1. Open a new desktop publishing document in a program like Microsoft Publisher, Adobe InDesign or Corel Draw. In Microsoft Publisher, click on "Start" and then pick "Invitation Cards." In the other programs, start a blank document and make it invitation sized--the size of a greeting card.

2. Find a card that's appropriate for an 80-year-old in Microsoft Publisher. The program includes many designs appropriate for different age levels. Double-click on the card.

3. Change font and personalize wording in the invitation to suit your taste. Add images appropriate for an 80-year-old.

4. Save the file by pressing "Ctrl+S." Name the file something you'll remember.

5. Print the files or attach to an email.
