How to Make a Window Cleaner Using Vinegar & Water

Combine vinegar and water for streak-free windows.

Distilled white vinegar is an effective household cleanser that kills most forms of mold, germs and bacteria. Use distilled white vinegar to clean countertops, eliminate lime buildup from chrome sink fixtures, remove stains from coffee cups and deodorize your garbage disposal. Combine vinegar with water to create an economical and environmentally friendly glass cleaner that will leave your windows free of streaks and residue.

Things You'll Need

• 2 cups distilled white vinegar
• Bucket or gallon-sized container
• Plastic spray bottle
• Newspaper

Instructions

1. Combine 2 cups distilled white vinegar with 1 gallon water in a bucket or large container.

2. Pour the mixture into a plastic spray bottle.

3. Spray the cleaner liberally on windows and mirrors.

4. Dry with crumpled newspaper.

Tips & Warnings

• Clean cloudy glassware by soaking paper towels in distilled white vinegar and wrapping them around the inside and outside of each glass. Allow the glasses to sit for 10 to 15 minutes then rinse clean.
