How to Remove Moth Ball Odors From Wooden Drawers

You can use charcoal to absorb moth ball odors.

Moth balls can be very useful in terms of keeping moths from destroying clothing items. However, the same chemicals that ward off these small insects can also settle into the surroundings. This is true in the case of drawers that have contained moth balls for some time. Luckily, you can rid wooden drawers of unpleasant aromas from moth balls. You also can use tools that are inexpensive and easily accessible.

Things You'll Need

• White vinegar
• Rags
• Charcoal
• Dryer sheets
• Drawer liners

Instructions

1. Remove the drawers, if possible.

2. Mix equal parts warm water and white vinegar.

3. Wipe out the drawers using a rag dipped in the vinegar and water solution.

4. Set the drawers in a well-ventilated area to dry.

5. Place a piece of charcoal inside each drawer before returning the drawers to their slots.

6. Add fresh aromas to the drawers by lining them with scented drawer liners or placing a scented fabric sheet inside each drawer.
