How to Hang a Berry Wreath With Ribbon

How to Hang a Berry Wreath With Ribbon thumbnail
Wreaths are often seen on the front door of homes.

Traditionally, wreaths are made of evergreen leaves and are hung during the Christian season of Advent---the four weeks leading up to Christmas. The circular evergreen wreaths were once seen as symbolizing everlasting life. Today, wreaths are most common during the holidays, but you can also hang them year-round, using different foliage for different seasons. During the holidays, winter and spring, berries can add color and a festive touch either outside or inside your home. Rather than hanging your berry wreath on a nail, use a ribbon to dress up the arrangement.

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase a ribbon in a color that coordinates with your wreath. For best results, choose ribbon that is 2 inches wide.

    • 2

Cut the ribbon to an appropriate length. Typically, you'll want the ribbon to be about 20 to 25 inches long.

    • 3

Thread the ribbon through the back of your wreath. Fake wreaths may even have an eye in the back through which you can thread the ribbon.

    • 4

Hold both ends of the ribbon together, and pick up the wreath by the tails. This will make the wreath slide to the exact middle of the ribbon.

    • 5

Tie a knot in the ribbon, about 5 inches from the end of the tails.

    • 6

Slide the knot over a nail in your front door or wall to hang your wreath.

    • 7

Tie a bow using the remaining 5 inches of ribbon tails above the nail.
