How to Make a Glass Container With Sand, Rocks and Tea Light Candles

How to Make a Glass Container With Sand, Rocks and Tea Light Candles thumbnail
Use tea light candles for a beautiful centerpiece

Create a beach themed table centerpiece using a glass container, tea light candles, sand, and decorative rocks. Because of the small, short shape of tea lights, the ideal container for this project would be something like a glass tray. The container should be long to accommodate the decorations but not much taller than the tea lights. Having sides higher than the flame of the candles helps keep them safe from wind when used outdoors. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Use candle adhesive to affix the tea lights to the bottom of the container. This prevents the candles from slipping around if the centerpiece is moved.

    • 2

Gently pour sand into the container. Avoid pouring the sand into the candles. Use your hand to pack the sand in closer to the edges of the tea lights.

    • 3

Strategically place decorative rocks around the candles. Avoid placing rocks where they will block the view of the flame when the candles are lit.

    • 4

Place the completed glass centerpiece on a table and light the candles. Do not leave the centerpiece unattended while candles are lit.
