1
Use old newspaper as a covering for floors during house projects. If you're painting a room in the house, take a few bundles of old newspaper pages and cover the areas where you'll be painting with them. Or, if you're working on a project where there will be a lot of sand dust on the floor, place the newspaper sheets underneath your work bench.

2
Reuse old small T-shirts as dishrags or dust rags. If you have some old shirts that your baby no longer wears, cut them up in halves for washing dishes, drying dishes or dusting furniture with polish.

Find ways to reuse old printer paper from your computer. If your children are always in need of scratch paper to work out math problems for homework, give them sheets of the printer paper to use. Or, if you're always leaving lists of tasks for your spouse to do during the week, use the printer paper instead of buying more. If you're a teacher, use the blank printer paper for classroom art projects.

4
Donate old magazines to local public libraries and community centers. When sorting through your magazines, choose the ones that are the most recent and in good condition. For example, if you live near a tutoring center and you have a few Scholastic magazines that have good educational articles, bring these to the center.
