How Can I Get a License to Serve Alcohol?
If you are a store owner who is selling or serving alcohol, you will be strictly monitored by your county Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC). Liquor stores, clubs, restaurants and bars need to obtain a liquor license before selling or serving alcoholic beverages to customers. Depending on the state you live in, you may have to complete state-funded training programs.

Tips & Warnings
In order to maintain your license, you need to be familiar with your state's laws concerning alcohol sales and consumption. The Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control will be monitoring your business to make sure you uphold your obligations. You can attend training sessions offered by regional ABC offices before selling or serving your alcohol to customers.
Check with your county to make sure you are not in a "dry county," which means laws prohibit the selling and distribution of alcohol in that county. Consider this factor when opening up a restaurant in that area.
