Homemade Yogurt Mask
Facial masks cleanse, exfoliate and soothe your skin. While commercial masks are readily available, you can make your own facial mask. Homemade facial masks are less expensive than their store-bought counterparts and give you the opportunity to know what ingredients are going into your skin care product. Yogurt is a skin-soothing ingredient that can be used for making your own facial mask. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 4 grapes
- Knife
- Bowl
- 1 tsp. plain yogurt
- 1 tsp. honey
- 1/2 tsp. orange juice (optional)
- 1/4 mashed banana (optional)
- Wire whisk
- Washcloth
- Towel

Prepare your skin for the yogurt mask with grapes. Slice the grapes in half and rub the pulp on your face. Squish the grapes as you move them over your skin to release the juices. Grapes naturally exfoliate and smooth the skin.

Mix 1 tsp. plain yogurt and 1 tsp. honey in a bowl, stirring well.

Add 1/2 tsp. orange juice to your yogurt facial mask to smooth wrinkles. Mix in 1/4 cup mashed banana to treat dry and irritated skin.

Whip your yogurt mask into a froth using a wire whisk. Apply the mask to your face with your fingertips.

Treat yourself to a mini spa treatment with a simple face mask. Dampen a washcloth with water and heat it in your microwave for 45 seconds on 50 percent power. Lay the warm washcloth over the mask on your face and lay down for 15 minutes. Allow the heat to help your skin absorb the benefits of the yogurt mask.

Wipe the face mask off with a damp cloth then pat your skin dry with a clean towel.

Tips & Warnings
Place your yogurt mask in the refrigerator to soothe puffy or sunburned skin.
Add 1 tsp. almond oil to your facial mask to moisturize skin.
Mix in oatmeal to soothe itchy, dry skin.
Store leftover yogurt facial mask in the refrigerator.
