How to Ping a Cellular Phone Number
Pinging a cell phone is a way to locate where a cell phone is located. Basically, you are checking with cell towers to determine the towers' last communications with the phone. This is illegal for civilians to do, unless they're pinging their own cell phone. Additionally, in order to get a ping done, you're going to have to contact your cellular provider or sign up for a pinging service.

Collect the information for the cell phone you want to ping. You should have the cell phone number, account information and the cellphone's serial number.

Contact the cellular provider for the cell phone you want to ping. Request that they ping the number, and give them all of the applicable information about the phone and the corresponding account. Some phone service providers will set up a ping service so that you can ping your own phone without contacting them, but you will need to sign up for that service.

Wait for the cellular provider to perform the ping.
