Instructions
-
Sand Centerpiece
-
1
Pour colored sand into the vase, layering the different colors on top of each other, alternating colors to create red, white and blue stripes of sand. Shake the vase a little after each layer to settle it flat before adding the next color.
-
2
Arrange a few flowers into the sand. Flowers that match the theme will look best. Red or white daisies or carnations would work. Choose red roses for a fancier gathering.
-
-
3
Stick a couple of flags into the sand around the flowers for a festive, colorful centerpiece.
Rustic Basket
-
4
Cut a piece of floral foam to fit into the bottom of a wicker basket.
-
5
Stick artificial flowers in patriotic colors into the foam inside the basket. Cover the foam with the blooms and place them so the basket is overflowing with flowers. Arrange them so the top flowers are standing taller than the flowers on the sides, forming a rounded arrangement.
-
6
Press a couple of American flag decorations into the foam so they are sticking up above the flowers.
-
7
Place the centerpiece on the table and surround it with red, white and blue votive candles in glass holders to provide a warm glow for your patriotic centerpiece.

Tips & Warnings
Substitute the basket in Section 2 for a metal pail for a different look for the centerpiece. Tie or glue some ribbons around the pail in patriotic colors.
