How Do I Setup a Sonic Wall for DSL?
Sonicwall manufactures many popular home and office networking products like routers and hardware firewalls. Many Sonicwall products that integrate into your network via Ethernet cables will need to be configured for your service before they will work, whether you use cable modem, DSL, or T1 Internet service. Luckily, this is quick process that can easily be completed with just a small investment of time and effort.

1
Attach the Ethernet cable from the Sonicwall device to your computer's Ethernet port. If the Sonicwall device has more than one Ethernet port, use one of the numbered LAN ports and not a port labeled "Internet" or "WAN."
-
2
Open an Internet browser and type the Sonicwall device's default IP address into the address bar, followed by the "Enter" key. The default IP assigned to this specific device will vary depending on what exact model of Sonicwall device you are using. Check the outside of the device for any stickers with the default IP on them or check the documentation that came with the router.

Configure the device for your DSL service. The exact settings you should use as well as the exact means of applying them on the Sonicwall device's web configuration utility will vary depending on features of your DSL service and again what model of Sonicwall device you are using. Any configuration questions should be directed to the technical support department of your DSL provider.
