How to Dip Biscotti in Chocolate
Biscotti are thin, long Italian cookies that work well for dunking in dessert wine, coffee and hot chocolate. They tend to be hard and crunchy and may include various additions such as chocolate chips or nuts. Dipping your biscotti in melted chocolate and then allowing them to dry gives them an extra richness and adds to their elegant appearance. It can also make dunking them in your drinks more interesting. Some of the chocolate will melt when you dip a biscotto into a mug of hot coffee, giving your coffee extra flavor. Put the chocolate into the metal mixing bowl. Add several inches of water to the saucepan and bring to a boil, then reduce to a gentle simmer. Suspend the mixing bowl in the saucepan so it can receive indirect heat. The bottom of the bowl should not touch the water in the saucepan.

3
Stir the chocolate every few minutes until you notice it beginning to melt significantly. Turn off the heat but leave the saucepan on the stove and the bowl in the saucepan. Stir every few minutes until the chocolate is completely melted.

4
Dip each biscotto into the melted chocolate. Depending on your personal preference, you can dip half of each biscotto into the chocolate, dip only the top or dip only the bottom. Hold each biscotto over the bowl of chocolate for a moment to allow any extra chocolate to drip off. You may need to use a spatula to get off the extra chocolate if it is too thick to drip.
-
5
Place the biscotti onto the wax paper to cool.
