Things You'll Need
- Goggles
- Gloves
- Long sleeve shirt
- Newspaper
- Paint brush
- Paint stripper
- Putty knife
- Cloth

Open the windows and doors for proper ventilation before beginning. Wear safety gear such as rubber gloves, goggles and a long-sleeve shirt. Spread old newspaper in the work area to prevent spilling.

Dip a paint brush into a can of paint stripper. Apply a thick layer of the paint stripper to the veneer, making sure to brush in one direction.

Leave the stripper on the veneer until you see bubbles begin to form. Scrape away the softened paint from the veneer with a putty knife. Apply more paint stripper to areas where paint is difficult to remove.

Wash away remaining residue from the veneer using a wet cloth. Let the surface air dry thoroughly.
