How to Make a Homemade Cupcake Stand
Cupcakes are popular sweet treats for parties, but they can be difficult to display. Their frosted tops mean that you can't stack them on top, so unless you find another way to display them, you will simply have a large, flat platter full of cupcakes. Create a cupcake tower that will add some height and visual appeal to your cupcakes. The best part is that you can make this simple cupcake stand in a matter of minutes and with items you may already own, or can purchase for a small amount of money. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 1 large platter
- 1 medium platter
- 1 small platter
- Craft glue
- 2 candlesticks with flat bottoms and tops

Select your platters and candlesticks for the cupcake stand. Choose three platters in graduated sizes. Select simple white circle, oval or square platters. Alternatively, select platters in a bright color or pattern, depending on the event for which you are creating the cupcake stand. next, choose two candlesticks that coordinate with the platters. Choose candlesticks that are between 3 inches and 6 inches long for a sturdy cupcake tower.

Place your largest platter on a flat surface. Apply craft glue to the bottom of one of the candlesticks. Try to keep most of the glue toward the center of the candlestick bottom so that excess glue does not squeeze out from under the edges. Place the candlestick in the center of the platter, pressing down to make sure the glue holds.

Apply glue to the top of the candlestick and press the medium-sized platter onto it, holding it in place while the glue dries.

Repeat steps 2 and 3 with the next candlestick and the remaining platters until your cupcake platter is complete.

Let the glue on your cupcake tower dry for at least 24 hours before you use it.
