Use double-sided tape made for wigs, the adhesive is more gentle on skin than ordinary double-sided tape. Cut double-sided tape into 1- to 3-inch strips. The width should be no more than 4 inches. Cover hair in a hair cap, pulling hair back completely. Clean the forehead around the hairline with a cotton ball and astringent.

Apply double-sided tape directly to the forehead right at the hairline. Cover the entire hairline with double-sided tape. Pull off the backing to reveal the sticky side facing outward. Pull on wig from the back toward the forehead. It may help to have a friend pull the wig on.

Align the hairline on the wig to your natural hair line. Part of the lace will hang on the forehead. Press down firmly all around the hairline, sticking the tape to the inside of the wig. Once you are comfortable with the alignment of the wig, carefully cut off the front of the lace on the forehead.

Remove the wig by gripping the back of the hair and pulling off. Carefully peel each piece of double-sided tape off the forehead, starting in the center. There should be no residue.
