How to Reactivate a Verizon Prepaid Cell

Reactivate a Verizon prepaid cell phone right from your home.

Verizon Wireless offers prepaid cell phones for customers who don't want a long-term contract and who only want to pay for their phone when they are using it. Prepaid cell phone owners prepay their account in whatever denomination they would like. Verizon charges a flat fee per day you use the phone, and the account balance is good for 60 days. After 60 days, you add more money to the account or stop using the phone. If you have stopped using your Verizon prepaid phone or lost a newer one, you can reactivate an old phone rather than purchase a new one.

Instructions

1. Remove the battery from the phone to locate the Electronic Serial Number or the Mobile Equipment Identifier.

2. Log on to your online Verizon account by entering your user identification and password.

3. Go to the "My Verizon" homepage.

4. Click on the "I want to..." section.

5. Click on the phone number you would like to hook up.

6. Select "Device" and enter the ESN or MEID. Press "Submit."

7. Choose the prepaid plan you would like if your account no longer has money on it. Press "Submit."
