How to Find Song URLs on iTunes

The iTunes application creates copies of audio and video files that you can download and store in a personal library on your computer. Occasionally, songs can malfunction or errors can come up, and it is helpful to find the original location of the song. Locating the song URL on iTunes only takes a few simple clicks.

      Launch the iTunes application. Click "iTunes" at the top of the menu. Select "Preferences" for a Mac computer or "Edit," "Preferences" for a PC.

      Click "Advanced." Remove the check mark in the box next to "Copy Files to iTunes Media Folder When Adding to Library." Click "OK" at the bottom of the page. Select "Music" on the left-hand pane of the screen.

      Click the Search window at the top of the screen. Enter the name of the song you wish to find the URL for.

      Right-click the song and select "Get Info." Click the Summary tab. The song URL will populate.
