How to Attach a Seat to a Scooter
Regardless of the size or type, all scooter seats are attached to the body of the scooter with a hinge that allows you to open and close the seat, often over a storage compartment. Attaching a seat to this hinge is as simple as attaching and connecting a door hinge. The mechanical components that come with a new or replacement scooter seat are essentially the same as those of a door hinge.

1
Locate the hinge on the seat itself. Depending on the make and model of your scooter, the seat hinge will be located on the front or back of the bottom of the seat. Locating it will help you determine if the seat is appropriate for your scooter.
-
2
Locate the hinge on the body of the scooter. Compare its location to the hinge location on your scooter seat. If the hinge is at the front of your seat, the hinge on your scooter's body must also be toward the front of the seat base. If it isn't, you will attach your seat backwards.
-
-
3
Line up the seat hinge with the hinge on the scooter's body. Make sure the loops are flush with each other.
-
4
Thread the bolt(s) or rod(s) through the hinge loops of both the body and the seat.
-
5
Secure the bolt(s) with either the nut(s) or clip(s) that came with the seat's installation package.
-
6
Test your seat's hinge, ensuring that it opens and closes smoothly. With some seats, particularly those secured with a bolt-and-nut combo, overtightening the nut can make it difficult to open and close the seat.
