1
Purchase a small craft box with enough compartments so that each type of bobby pin has its own. The compartments should be large enough for the entire length of the pin to lay flat on the bottom. Craft boxes are available at any major craft or sewing store.
-
2
Cut your satin ribbon into 4-inch pieces. Make a small line of craft glue on top of each compartment divider wall and press one end of the ribbon into the glue, securing it to the top of divider. Hold for 30 seconds to ensure the ribbon is completely glued. Allow the remaining end of the ribbon to hang downward into the compartment. Let the glue dry completely. Tie a small knot at the free hanging end of the ribbon to prevent fraying.

3
Organize your bobby pins by type. Create piles for each color, texture and size. Lay them flat in front of the craft box.
-
4
Slide the bobby pins onto the glued pieces of satin ribbon. Each ribbon should hold a different type of bobby pin. Applying the pins to the ribbons in a row prevents them from tangling with each other. Allow the ribbon to fall into the compartment when finished.
