How to Manage Your Kindle Content
Designed to feel like an actual book, the Kindle--an electronic device manufactured by bookseller Amazon.com--enables you to read books, magazines, newspapers and blogs electronically. You turn pages by pressing the "Next Page" and "Prev Page" buttons, and shop for new books and other content by pressing the "Menu" button and selecting "Shop in Kindle Store." As you amass more and more reading material, it becomes necessary to organize it so you can easily find what you're currently reading.

1
Sort your Kindle content by using the five-way controller button to navigate to the top of the Home screen and choose "Most Recent First," "Title," "Author" or "Collections." The latter three options place content in alphabetical order.
-
2
Create collections. Collections on the Kindle are basically category containers in which you place content. For example, create a collection for periodicals, reference materials and contemporary fiction. To do this, press the "Menu" button from the Home Screen. This displays a menu that contains the "Create New Collection" option. Use the five-way controller button to navigate and select this option. Name the collection, then add titles.

3
Search your Kindle content for particular subject matter or a quote you previously highlighted. To begin a search, just start typing; the search bar automatically appears. Then use the five-way controller button to highlight "Search my items" to display a list of all content on your Kindle in which the term you typed exists. If you do this as you're reading an item, the search will extend only within that item.
-
4
Archive content that you have finished reading. All content that you move to the archive is housed on the Amazon.com site and can be retrieved at any time. To place content into your Amazon.com archive, press the "Home" button, highlight the item, point the controller to the left, and select "Remove from Device." To retrieve content from your archive, select "Archived Items" from the Home screen and select that item.
