An SD card is placed at the front memory slot of the Wii console.

The Wii is a popular game console developed by the Nintendo Corporation. The console offers features such as motion-sensing capabilities and Internet access. Furthermore, users can install games and applications into its internal memory. However, due to a rather limited capacity of 512 MB, the memory must be managed according to your needs. To free additional space within the Wii, you must remove the data available or back it up to an external storage unit.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your Wii console. Click the "Wii Options" icon at the bottom-left on the screen.

    • 2

Click the "Data Management" icon. Select "Save Data" to manage all your saved games on the Wii's internal memory. Otherwise, select "Channels" to manage any application currently installed.

    • 3

Press the icon pertaining to the video game or application you wish to manage.

    • 4

Select "Move" or "Copy" from the subsequent pop-up menu to save the chosen item to an external SD card, if available. Note that the "Copy" function will leave a replica inside the Wii's internal memory. The "Move" function will remove the item from the internal memory and save it to the external storage unit.

    • 5

Select "Erase" to permanently remove the item from the Wii's internal memory. Allow approximately 5 to 30 seconds for each process to finish, depending on the item's size.
