DIY Audio Stands & Racks
Shelving is essential for any true music or book lover. It's the best way to keep records and CDs safe and organized. But it can also be expensive, and nobody wants to waste cash on generic furniture when they could be spending it on their collections. Do-it-yourself (or DIY) shelving is not always as pretty, but it is simple to put together, and can be easily adjusted to fit the needs of the space or collection. Does this Spark an idea?

Clear out the space for the shelves. It may seem obvious, but it is a necessary precaution against broken records, crushed CDs and ripped books.

Lay the first piece of plywood on the floor. Start with the wood to protect your floor from damage from the cinder blocks.

Place the cinder blocks at each end of the plywood, and then stack another plywood on top. If the plywood pieces are different sizes, always start with the largest piece.

Alternate stacking plywood and cinder blocks until you are happy with the size of your self.

Start filling in your collection once you've finished stacking the cinder blocks and plywood to the desired height. Place the heavier and bulkier items on the bottom shelves.
