How to Design a Bridal Tiara
Bridal tiaras can replace the traditional bridal veil or they can accessorize the bride's hairstyle after the bridal veil is removed. Tiaras give the bride a princess look and add a touch of distinction between the bride and the rest of the bridal party. Bridal tiaras can be simple with just a few flowers woven into the crown or they can be extravagantly laden with jewels. Even with all the other bridal planning responsibilities taking your time and attention, designing your own tiara is not as hard as you think. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Collect pictures of an assortment of tiaras. This will give you an idea of how you want your tiara to look. Your tiara should not detract from the wedding dress. Pictures will give you suggestions on what type of tiaras look good with bridal dresses.

2
Draw your design on a piece of paper; if you do not feel comfortable drawing, cut and paste parts of the tiara pictures you collected onto another piece of paper. Tiaras come in two general designs: a circlet or a diamond crown shape. Add the other essential details to your design like flowers, shapes, jewels, or whatever you want on your tiara.

3
Get samples of the ornamental materials you want to use; this will give you an idea of what stones, flowers or cloths look good together and which will clash with your bridal dress. Most tiaras are shaped of metal wire and the thickness of the wire varies with each design. Tiaras normally use 12- to 14-gauge wire.

4
Make a template of your tiara out of cardboard. The template should include the lower band and the crown. Since the tiara is not an enclosed circle, the template will assist with the fitting of the lower band.
-
5
Finalize how you want the tiara to stay on your head. The tiara stays secure with interior padding and an elastic band or a hair comb. Elastic bands are adjustable and hair combs are stitched in place or firmly pushed into the hair.
