How to Make a Child Ballerina Costume
Making a child's ballerina costume requires creativity and ingenuity. While it is difficult to put together a costume from scratch, by obtaining the various pieces of a ballet costume and putting them together you make the process exponentially easier. Does this Spark an idea?

Assemble the necessary articles and determine your color. It is best to buy your materials in a basic pink or white in case you plan to dye your ballerina costume. If you are going to dye it, do so before assembling the pieces to achieve a better dye job.

Cut the tulle material according to the length of skirt for which you plan. Before cutting, fold the tulle until you have reached the amount of layers of tulle you want in your ballet costume skirt. Cut along the fold so the pieces are of equal length.

Sew the tulle to the midsection of the leotard. Measure the leotard first on your child and mark with a pin where you would like the tulle to start. There is no need to hem the tulle, as it does not unravel.

As an alternate to step #3, if you do not sew or do not want to sew, you can purchase a pre-made tulle skirt to be worn over the leotard for the same effect.
