How to Duplicate Items in "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion"
"The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion" is a 2006 role-playing game by Bethesda. The game has a few glitches throughout, and some can actually benefit players. You can duplicate most items indefinitely; you can use these items or just sell them. There are a couple of ways to duplicate items in the game; a simple duplication process is quick and easy, but will not work on many items. A second approach is more involved and requires that you have weapons only available late in the game, but it does work on practically everything except quest items.
Instructions
-
Simple Duplication
-
1
Open your inventory.
-
2
Select a stack of two or more identical scrolls so that their effect displays in the magic spell slot. You will get the same number of duplicate items as scrolls that you select.
-
-
3
Locate the item you wish to duplicate in your inventory. Do not equip it, and do not close out your inventory yet.
-
4
Drop the item onto the ground. Even if you have a stack of items highlighted, your character will drop only one when you press the "Drop" button.
-
5
Close your inventory. Instead of dropping a single item, your character will have "dropped" copies of that item equal to however many scrolls you highlighted originally. You can duplicate scrolls this way to increase how many duplicates you can make of other items.
Duplication with the Skull of Corruption
-
6
Put the object or objects you wish to duplicate in the inventory of any dead NPC.
-
7
Reanimate the NPC using the Staff of Worms.
-
8
Create a clone of the NPC using the Skull of Corruption.
-
9
Fight and kill the NPC clone. Make sure you do this before the reanimation effect wears off and the original NPC "dies" again.
-
10
Loot the NPC clone corpse. You must do this very quickly; the corpse disappears within a second or two. The item or items you placed on the NPC will also be in the clone's inventory.
-
11
Take the original item off of the NPC's body after the reanimation effect wears off.

Tips & Warnings
Simple duplication does not always work, especially with unique items and items you have customized with enchantments.
You must have more identical scrolls than items you want to duplicate. If you try to duplicate an item in a stack of items that is equal or more in number than the number of scrolls you've selected, the items will not duplicate.
Since timing is crucial for duplicating with the Skull of Corruption, you may want to save your game when you're close to killing the clone or immediately after the clone dies. That way, if the clone disappears before you loot it, you can just load the save and try again.
If you see items in the clone's inventory labeled "<missing name>," do not loot those items. Those inventory slots are serious game glitches, and if you loot them, they can cause your game to crash. Only remove items that have a normal icon and name.
