How to Play GBA Game Files on a DS

Normally, Game Boy Advanced games are not compatible with the Nintendo DS. The M3 DS Real cartridge is a cheating cartridge that can also be set up as a GBA emulator. With the GBA Ram Pack device, you can configure M3 DS Real to set up GBA ROM files to play on the Nintendo DS.

Instructions

      Connect the USB card reader to the computer's USB port. Place the SD card you use with the M3 DS Real cartridge into the USB card reader. Allow the computer to recognize the device.

      Copy the GBA games you wish to play (see "Resources") onto the "NDS" folder of the SD card. Allow the download to complete. Remove the SD card from the USB card reader.

      Place the SD card back into the M3 DS Real Cartridge. Place the cartridge into "Slot 1" of the Nintendo DS.

      Place the GBA Ram Pack into "Slot 2" of the Nintendo DS.

      Turn the Nintendo DS on. Open the M3 DS menu. Choose "GBA" from the menu and select the game you wish to play.

Tips & Warnings

  • If a GBA game is protected by the Entertainment Software Association, it is illegal to play them if you do not own the original copy. You can only play ROMs that are downloaded from ESA-compliant websites. You can confirm ESA compliance through checking a site's "Policies" section.
