How to Clean Car Windshields & Wipers

Furthermore, even if you clean your windshield on a regular basis, it is also important for you to clean and maintain your windshield wipers to keep your windshield clear of rain and debris. You can clean and maintain your windshield and wipers by using common household items.

Things You'll Need

• Clean rags
• Spray bottle
• Water
• Vinegar
• Nylon scrub mesh
• Windshield wiper fluid

Instructions

Clean the Windshield

1. Mix three parts vinegar to one part water in a spray bottle.

2. Liberally spray the exterior of your windshield with the vinegar mixture.

3. Wipe your windshield dry with clean rags.

4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 on the interior side of your windshield.

5. Scrub difficult to remove insect carcasses or other sticky debris from your windshield with a nylon scrub mesh.

Clean Your Windshield Wipers

1. Raise both windshield wiper arms to their upright positions away from the windshield glass.

2. Apply windshield wiper fluid or the vinegar solution to a clean rag.

3. Gently rub the cloth along the wiper blade to remove any dirt or residue.

4. Gently replace the wiper blades to their downward position.
