Homemade Candy Jar
A clever way to create a personalize gift for someone is to design a candy jar and fill it with the recipient's favorite candy. This can be much more cost efficient and fun for those who don't quite enjoy shopping. You can create a candy jar for various types of occasions such as Christmas, Valentines Day and even Easter. Make your own candy jar with children for a pleasurable arts and crafts experience.
Things You'll Need
- Mason jar
- Stickers
- Fabric
- Glue
- Candy
- Glitter
- Ribbon
- Paint
- Markers
- Hot glue gun
- Newspaper
- Scissors

Lay newspaper on a flat surface to create your work area.

Clean the Mason jar thoroughly and let it dry. It should be free of dirt and debris inside and out.

Use the glitter, stickers, ribbon, paint and markers to decorate the exterior part of the jar as you desire.

Allow between half an hour to an hour for the decorations to dry and set on the outside of the jar. The paint should be dry to the touch.

Decorate the lid of the Mason jar while the jar dries. Use the paint, glitter, markers and stickers to decorate the lid. Cut a piece of fabric to a circular shape slightly bigger than the lid of the jar to cover the lid. Center the piece of fabric and glue onto the jar. Using the hot glue gun, apply additional glue to the sides of the jar and fold the extra material to the interior part of the lid to secure the fabric.

Allow between half an hour to an hour for the glue on the lid to dry.

Fill the jar with candy and close the lid. You can use various types of candy to fill the jar or just one candy.

Tips & Warnings
Decorate the jar according to a theme such as Christmas or Halloween.
You also can use peanut butter jars and baby food jars to make your candy jar.
Use additional crafts such as construction paper and different types of fabric.
