How to Use a Nextar M3 - GPS

The M3 is a portable GPS navigation system manufactured by Nextar. It has a 3.5 inch color TFT LCD touchscreen display and an SD digital memory card for storage. The M3 has voice-guided direction with turn-by-turn prompts. It will automatically calculate route changes based on your location. The built-in map covers the U.S. and has 1.6 million points of interest. The map can be viewed in 2-D or 3-D. The M3 has an address book which holds up to 300 addresses or locations.

Instructions

      Press the "On" button on top of the M3. The unit will start and display the main map screen.

      Press the "Menu" button. Choose "Destination" and select "Find Address." Press "Start With City," and enter the city name on the on-screen keyboard. Tap the city name when it displays.

      Select "Street Name." Enter the street name with the keyboard. Tap the green check box to select the street.

      Press "House Number" and enter the house number on the keyboard. If the house number has a letter, such as "2128A," press the "Alt" button to type the letter. Tap "Done" when you have entered the address. If the M3 does not have the house number in its database, it will select the mid-point of the street as the destination.

      Press "More Options" and select "Add Destination to Favorites" if you will use the destination regularly. Press "Go" and the M3 will calculate your route to the location and display the route on the map.

      Press the "Menu" button and select "Destination." Tap "Find Places" to locate points of interest or POI. Select a category. The M3 has gas stations, restaurants, accommodations and parking as primary categories. The M3 will search locations in the category along the route if you have a destination selected, or around your current position if you do not have a programmed route.

      Tap the name of the location you wish to go to. Press "Select" to select the POI. Press "Go" to map a route to the POI.
