How to Remove a MicroSD in a BlackBerry Bold

The BlackBerry Bold is a line of high-end mobile phones Research in Motion (RIM) launched in 2008. RIM has since launched several new models of the BlackBerry Bold, but they all have similar specifications. A main feature is their capacity to play dozens of types of media files. The BlackBerry Bold also features a microSD storage card slot conveniently accessible behind the back cover, which allows the phone to hold up to 8 GB of additional media. If you wish to take advantage of that, remove the 1 GB microSD card first.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the BlackBerry Bold's back cover. Press on it gently while pushing it down to slide it off the phone. Removing the back cover reveals the battery, SIM card and storage card slot.

    • 2

Locate the microSD card on the BlackBerry Bold. The slot is usually located at the top center of the battery compartment.

    • 3

Press the microSD further into the slot. The card slot is spring-loaded, so that when the card clicks into the slot, it will pop out for easy removal.

    • 4

Remove the card from the slot carefully. Don't yank or pull. Use your fingernails to slide the card out of the slot. Alternatively, use a pair of small needle-nose pliers to grasp the card and pull it out of the slot.
