Peace lilies are a native to Central and South America and are part of the philodendron family. They can grow up to 6 feet in height with a spread of 6 feet. Peace lilies are often grown as houseplants because they can handle low light situations and still manage to flower. Grow your peace lilies from seed but they may not flower for several years. Instructions

      Fill the seed trays with the soil free seed starter. Wet the mixture until is damp.

      Dig shallow holes into the mixture in each tray between ¼ and ½ inch deep and place one peace lily in each hole.

      Place the peace lilies in a dark, moist place until the seedlings emerge. Move the seedlings under the grow lights for six to eight hours a day until the seedlings are 3 to 4 inches tall. Keep the growing medium moist at all times.

      Fill a container with three to four drainage holes in the bottom with potting soil. Dig a hole for the peace lily as deep as the root ball and two times as wide. Place the peace lily transplant into the hole and fill it with soil. Water the peace lily until water leaks out of the bottom of the container.

      Place the peace lily near a bright window but out of the direct light.
