How to Get Rid of Deeply Cracked Feet
Cracked heels and extremely dry feet are not only unattractive, but they can be quite uncomfortable. Taking care of this problem is easy and will feel soothing on your tired, cracked feet. Pour 1 cup of milk into a warm foot bath. If you don't have a foot bath, fill a bathtub with shallow water. Soak your feet in the foot bath for 10 to 15 minutes. This will help to soften your feet.

Pour 1/4 cup of olive oil into a small dish. Mix in a tbsp. of sugar and apply this mixture to your feet. Massage this all over your feet for three to four minutes to help exfoliate dead skin cells and remove dry skin. Gently rinse the scrub off your feet and pat dry with a towel.

Apply a lotion or cream containing lactic acid all over your feet. Massage the lotion deeply into the feet concentrating on cracked areas. Lactic acid has deep moisturizing properties. According to The Mayo Clinic, lactic acid is recommended by doctors for extremely dry skin. Lactic acid creams and lotions can be purchased over-the-counter at drugstores and pharmacies.

Cover your feet with a pair of thick socks. Leave the socks on for approximately eight hours. The socks will help to trap in the moisture from the lactic acid cream. You may wish to do this at night so that you can rest your feet and the full benefits of this method can be experienced.

Tips & Warnings
A pumice stone may be used to exfoliate dry skin on cracked heels.
If you are pregnant, nursing, or taking other medications, ask your doctor before using a lactic acid cream. If you are unable to use lactic acid cream, shea or cocoa butter lotions and creams are good alternatives.
