How to Change the SSL Certificate Subject
Changing -- also known as editing -- the SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate is a way of updating the certificate to protect your computer against new virus or spyware attacks. A certificate is installed on a Windows Server computer and protects the computer's files and folders against malicious attacks. Changing a certificate can be done by an IT administrator who has the right skills.

Log on to the Windows Server using an account with administrative rights.

Click "Start," then "Administrative Tools." From the list click "IIS Manager." IIS stands for Internet Information Services, and is a utility used for changing the certificate on the system.

Right-click "Default Web Site." From the drop-down list click "Properties."

Click the "Directory Security" tab, then click "Edit."
