Instructions

    • 1

Buy a wig at a beauty supply store. There a plethora of styles and colors, but it should have combs in the front. The most common wigs that can be blended with natural hair are half wigs.

    • 2

Part your natural hair around the front parameter. Start at the left ear and go toward the right. Use a comb to pull it forward and secure it with a holder or clip.

    • 3

Back-comb the top layer of the under hair to provide traction for the combs of the half wig. To back-comb, separate a strand of hair about 1 to 2 inches wide and comb the section straight up and then forward at a 145-degree angle. Use a rat-tail comb or teasing brush to back-comb the hair. Hold it taut and comb down 2 to 3 inches quickly about three times. This is enough to give the hair texture and lift without damage.

    • 4

Place the half wig on your head. Secure the combs of the wig inside of the back-combed hair with about an inch of hair on top and underneath the wig. Make sure the comb is fastened in the hair and centered. Place bobby pins around the unexposed portions of the wig to secure it.

Unclip and comb the partitioned front hair over the half wig, and style the half wig as desired.
