How to Hook Up Wireless Speakers From an Amp

Wireless speakers make it easy to add music to other rooms or outdoor areas of your home. Most wireless speakers broadcast their signal on a high-frequency wavelength that is resistant to interference, so they can provide good-quality sound throughout your home. Wireless speakers come equipped with transmitters--the transmitter is connected to your amplifier or receiver, and then sends a radio signal out to the speakers.

Instructions

1. Place the transmitter for your wireless speakers near the amplifier you'll be connecting it to, and as high as possible. The higher the transmitter, the better the range.

2. Plug the audio cable of the transmitter into the RCA output jacks of your amplifier. Match the colors of the RCA jacks on the cable with those on the amplifier. Plug the other end of the cable into the transmitter.

3. Plug the transmitter's power cord into a wall jack or power strip.

4. Place your wireless speakers. If they use AC power, plug them in. If they use batteries, be sure they're supplied with fresh batteries. Turn the wireless speakers on.
