Instructions

  1. Instructions

    • 1

Turn off breaker to vent hood. Find the location for the vent hood. If an old hood was removed, this makes things simpler. If not, measure up 36" from the cook top. Add hood installation height from the chart that is included with the hood. Mark this location. Use the level to make a straight line at this mark. Tape provided mounting template to wall, lining up with the marks.

    • 2

Mark screw locations on wall from template, there are six of them. Remove the template and drill the holes. If the drill did not go into a stud, widen the hole and tap in the anchoring fasteners from the supplied hardware. Use the provided screws to attach the mounting brackets to the wall.

    • 3

Lift the hood and set it on the brackets. Hood can be slid a bit left or right to ensure even alignment with the cook top. Look to see if the mounting holes are matching up with the holes that were drilled in the wall and align as necessary. Loosely install washers and screws into the mounting holes. Tighten top screws first, then the lower ones until all the screws are securely fastened. Take care and do not over tighten screws.

    • 4

Place upper duct bracket on ceiling and mark the screw locations. Drill holes for the screws and use anchors if the holes did not go into studs. Screw the duct bracket into place.

    • 5

Install the damper on the exhaust outlet. Cut duct work to the needed length with metal snips and connect that to the damper. Make sure that all the joints are done with sheet metal screws. Wrap all joints and connections with aluminum tape.

    • 6

Remove the cover of the junction box. Connect the new wiring to the house wiring. Secure with wire nuts and push wires into the junction box. Replace cover.

    • 7

Place the duct covers around the duct at the hood. Take the inner duct cover and raise it until it reaches the ceiling bracket. Attach with the provided screws.

    • 8

Install filters then turn power back on to test the hood. Try all speed and lighting configurations.

Tips & Warnings

  • If the wire coming from the junction box is not 2-wire with a ground, then a ground wire has to be installed. This should be done by a licensed professional.
