How to Repair a Logitech Z-5500
The Logitech Z-5500 is a desktop computer surround-sound system that comes with five speakers and a subwoofer. If you are experiencing problems with the speaker system, such as not all the speakers playing audio (or possibly none of the speakers) you need to troubleshoot the Logitech Z-5500 in order to determine what is causing the audio problem.

Check the wire connections running from each satellite speaker to the subwoofer. If any of these wires is not inserted completely into the subwoofer, the designated speaker is not going to function. Slide the wire into the subwoofer connection port completely in order for the audio to play through every speaker.

Disconnect the cable running from the subwoofer into the computer. If the connection port is dirty, you hear static over the speakers. Spray compressed air into the connection port and wipe off the cable running form the subwoofer with a soft cloth. Once clean, plug the subwoofer back into the computer system.

Look over the connection you between the subwoofer and the computer. Make sure it is plugged into the "Line Out" port not the microphone or "Line-In" port. No audio is played through those connections.

Click "Start," "Control Panel" and double-click the audio option. Choose the speaker setup as "Surround Sound." If you don't, you only hear audio from two of the five speakers.
