How to Transfer Data to a Mobile Phone

Mobile data can be used the same as data already loaded on the phone.

Data can be quickly transferred from your computer to your mobile phone without downloading and installing special software. Data files such as videos, music and pictures can be moved back and forth between the two devices. After transferring the files to the mobile phone, the files can be managed the same as other data files on the device. A data transfer by computer avoids the use of the phone's data connection.

Instructions

1. Connect your mobile phone to a computer using a USB or data cable. Click "Start" and choose "Computer" or "My Computer" from the menu. A window will open on your computer.

2. Double-click your mobile phone's icon in the window. The mobile phone's folder will open.

3. Locate and open the folder on your computer containing the data to transfer.

4. Drag the data file to your mobile phone's open folder. Release the data file. A copy of the file will be made on the phone.

Tips & Warnings

• Data files such as pictures and videos can also be transferred to your mobile phone by email. Access your email account and create a blank email message. Click "Attach," select the data file and send the message.
