When customers activate a cell phone with Sprint, they are offered the option to purchase Total Equipment Protection for their cell phone. If their cell phone is damaged, lost or stolen, Total Equipment Protection allows customers to pay a deductible and receive a replacement without extending their contract.

Instructions

      File a claim with Asurion. Go to Asurion's website (see Resources) and click "File Claim" or call 800-584-3666 to speak to an agent. If your phone is lost or stolen, you must file your claim within 60 days of the loss.

      Provide the required information. In addition to your name, address and cell phone number, you will be asked for the PIN and the answer to the security question you use to authenticate your account with Sprint. You will also need to provide the details of when and how your phone was lost or damaged.

      Pay the deductible. The deductible will be either $50 or $100 depending on the type of cell phone you have and can be paid using a credit card. It has to be paid before a replacement phone will be shipped.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you are replacing a damaged phone, you must return the damaged phone within 10 days of receiving your replacement phone.
