How to Make a Masonic Needlepoint Pattern
Transferring the Masonic emblem to a needlepoint fabric requires a colored picture of the Masonic emblem the size desired for the needle point project, a computer, a paint program and a color printer. The emblem must be in reverse so the letter in the center will transfer correctly onto the fabric. Special ink or paper is not required for the project. The transfer quality of the printer ink is sufficient to transfer onto the fabric.

Instructions

1
Locate a picture of the Masonic emblem on the Internet. Right click on the image and select copy.
-
2
Open the Paint program. Click on file. Click on new. Right-click in the box and click paste.
-
-
3
Resize the image to the desired size.
-
4
Horizontally rotate the picture so the letter is backwards. This means the letter can be read if held up to a mirror. Print a copy of the photo on a color printer.
-
5
Lay the needlepoint fabric on the ironing board. Flip the design over so the printing is pointing toward the fabric. Make sure to line up the edges of the paper so the design is square on the fabric. Lay the paper on the fabric.
-
6
Set the iron to the cotton setting and let it heat. Iron the back of the paper with the Masonic emblem. Sit the iron on the paper and hold it for 10 seconds. Move the iron to the next portion of the design and repeat.
-
7
Gently lift one corner of the paper and check to see if the ink has transferred completely. Place the corner back on the fabric and repeat the process for a darker image.
