How to Set Up a Zenith Digital TV Box

Zenith is typically known for its digital television systems, but the company also produces other devices, including television receiver boxes. These receivers, commonly used with cable programming, are often installed by a service technician. However, if you have moved your entertainment center or just wish to know how the hardware hooks up with your TV, connecting the digital receiver box to your TV only takes a few minutes to complete.

Things You'll Need

  • Component video/S-video/RCA video
  • RCA audio

Instructions

    • 1

Compare the connection ports located on the rear of the TV and the Zenith digital receiver box. Locate the highest quality video connections shared by both devices. Component is the highest quality and is made up of green, red and blue connection ports. S-video is the next highest quality, which is a single, circular connection and RCA is the lowest, which is a single yellow cable port.

    • 2

Plug the cables into the "Video Out" ports on the Zenith digital TV box; attach the other ends into the "Video In" ports on the television system.

    • 3

Attach the RCA audio cables into the "Audio Out" ports on the digital TV box; attach the other ends into the "Audio In" ports on the TV. All three connections use the RCA audio cables to transport the audio signal.

    • 4

Power on the TV and the Zenith digital television receiver box. Select "Component Video" if you used the component video cables or "Video" if you used S-video or RCA video cables.
