How to Make Kahlua & Coffee

Kahlua is a coffee-flavored liqueur.

Kahlua is a popular liqueur, made from coffee and sugarcane distilled into an alcoholic spirit. The drink originated in Veracruz, Mexico in 1936. Often used in mixed cocktails, with soda or even on its own, Kahlua can also be added to coffee and other ingredients to make a dessert-like coffee drink. The recipe outlined below will make six servings and can be modified to suit your taste and those of your guests.

Things You'll Need

• 6 cups of hot coffee
• 1 cup of chocolate syrup
• 1/4 cup Kahlua
• 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• Whipped cream

Instructions

1. Pour the coffee into a large jug or container.

2. Gradually stir in the chocolate syrup so that the mixture is well combined.

3. Add the Kahlua and cinnamon and mix well.

4. Pour the coffee mixture into six individual serving cups.

5. Top each serving with whipped cream.

Tips & Warnings

• Add to the richness of the coffee by drizzling chocolate syrup over the whipping cream.

• Sprinkle cinnamon or raw sugar on the whipping cream for another sweet taste.
