Instructions

Lead the client to the backwash sink and have him sit down. Wrap a towel around his neck to prevent water from getting on the collar of his shirt.

    • 2

Turn on the water the same way you would with a regular sink. Turn the hot knob and then the cold to adjust the temperature of the water. Feel the water with your hands to sure it isn't too hot for the client's head.

Tell the client to lean his head back.

    • 4

Wash the client's hair. Turn off the water to conserve energy while you apply the shampoo. Rinse his head with water, and then apply conditioner, if you wish. Rinse out the conditioner.

Tell the client to lift his head. If he has long hair, you may want to wrap a towel around it while he walks to the cutting station. Make sure you turn off the water and check to make sure no water drips from the faucet.
