How to Make Yarn Tassels on a Knitted Scarf

Tassels add a decorative finish to any project.

After you finish knitting a scarf, you can add some finishing touches, like tassels. Adding tassels gives your scarf some personality and makes it one-of-a-kind. It doesn't take much to add tassels to a homemade or store-bought scarf. In a matter of minutes, your scarf will look clean and finished with a little something extra.

• Crochet hook

Instructions

1. Cut two lengths of yarn for each tassel you want to make. Make these twice as long as you want the tassels to be, as you will folding them over.

2. Fold two strands in half. Pierce through the corner of your scarf with the crochet hook. Hook the middle of your two strands and pull a loop back through the hole. Hook the ends of the yarn and pull them all through the loop you just created. Pull it tight.

3. Repeat Step 2 in every stitch or in even increments across the end of your scarf. Do the same for the other end.

4. Trim the ends of your tassels so they are even.
