Clear off any sheets and covers that are on the bed to increase your visibility of the task and reduce any potential obstructions.

Insert the bottom portion of the bed rail between the mattress and the bed frame, pushing down on it until it is secure.

Repeat step 2 to install the bed rail on the opposite side of the bed.

Put the sheets and covers back on the bed, tucking them snugly in between the mattress and bedspring.

Fold the bed rails up and apply light force to each rail to ensure that they do not move.
