In this case, you can purchase your new cell phone direct from the manufacturer. If this is what you decide to do, there are several things you need to keep in mind as you make your purchase.

Get to know the major cell phone manufacturers. These include LG, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Nokia and Samsung. You will most likely be purchasing your cell phone from one of these manufacturers.

Figure out which cell phone features are important to you: camera and video, Bluetooth compatibility, a memory card, a QWERTY keyboard, a touch screen, Wi-Fi technology, GPS navigation, general web browsing.

Check the manufacturers’ websites to find out what types of phones they offer. Look for those that offer the features you want, and start making a list of the models that interest you and how much they cost.
