How to Design a Resume Business Card
Resume business cards are a valuable asset to have on hand for unexpected social networking opportunities. Effective cards highlight pertinent information from your resume, such as your name, contact information, education and experience. The purpose of resume business cards is to provide a snapshot of your qualifications without overwhelming the recipient with excessive information. Because you have limited space to work with, it is especially important to give careful thought to the design and layout of the card.

How to Design a Resume Business Card
-
1
Choose a layout for your card. Keep in mind that your entire design must fit on a 3.5-inch-by-2-inch business card, and you'll want to avoid cramming too much information into such a limited space. Your design should be clean, professional and visually pleasing.
-
2
Include your name and contact information, such as your phone number, website and e-mail address on the front of the card. Select a font that is easy to read and no larger than 12 points in size. Your name should be the focal point of the card and should be listed in bold print.

3
List your profile or objective on the front of the card. This should clearly state the type of position you are seeking. For example, "A seasoned purchasing manager seeking an opportunity to utilize my skills and experience to contribute to employer profitability."
-
4
Briefly list your education and most recent relevant work experience. Information that is typically included in this section is degree type, major, graduation date, employer name and job title.
-
5
List any accomplishments, awards or specific skills that have not already been referenced on the back side of the card.
-
6
Choose a printing method. Thanks to the availability of free templates in programs such as Microsoft Word and Publisher, business cards can be printed at home on business-card-stock paper. You can also use a printing company.
