Being able to set your own hair on hot rollers can save you not only time but also money, because you can skip thatexpensive visit to the hair salon. Hot rollers come in different sizes ranging from small to large, and you can use them to create volume, bounce and curls. Comb your hair in the hair style that you desire to create after removing the rollers.

Select a section of hair at the front of your hairline, at the part of your hair if you have one. Sectioned hair should be approximately 2 inches deep and no larger than the width of the roller. Use large sections of hair with large rollers if you desire more body, and use smaller sections with small rollers if you prefer more curl. If the sectioned hair is wider than the roller, it will take longer for your roller-set hair to dry, and part of your curl could be loose.

Put a hot roller in the sectioned hair in the direction of your desired style. Keep splitting the hair in sections, working your way toward the back of the head, until all your hair is set in rollers.
