-
2
Remove any string remnants from the hub or spool by pulling firmly on the end of the string using needle-nose pliers.
-
-
3
Cut two 48-inch lengths of Weed Eater string line using scissors or wire cutters. Cut the ends of the strings at a slight angle to create a pointed tip.
-
4
Rotate the spool knob on the base of string hub until the embossed arrows align.
-
5
Feed the end of one of the lengths of string through one of the grommet holes in the outside edge of the spool. Insert the string until the pointed end pokes out of the bottom of the spool next to the spool knob.
-
6
Grab the tip of the Weed Eater string line with needle-nose pliers and pull out approximately 1 1/2 inches of string, then insert the tip into the small hole next to the spool knob. Pull back on the string slightly to remove any slack above the spool surface.
-
7
Repeat Steps 5 and 6 to install the other length of Weed Eater string line.
-
8
Rotate the spool knob counterclockwise to evenly reel the string line lengths onto the spool until there is approximately 6 to 8 inches remaining exposed.
