How to Add a Search Button to an Amazon Store
When you join Amazon's associate program, you can create what Amazon calls an aStore. The aStore can be embedded into your own website to allow customers to purchase products through Amazon while allowing you to earn commissions on those sales. Creating and editing an aStore is free, and the process is simple. Once you become an Amazon affiliate, edit your store to match the products you would like to promote and sell. Adding a search button to your aStore requires you to enable the search widget while editing your aStore.

Sign up for an Amazon store. Go to amazon.com (see Resources), and scroll to the bottom of the screen. Under the section titled "Make Money With Us," click the "Join associates" link. Create an account by supplying your name, a valid email address and a password. Signing up is free.

Select the aStore tab at the top of the page after completing the application process to become an associate. Click "Add an aStore," and create a store ID.

Edit your aStore. Amazon offers many templates from which to choose so you can narrow your store to meet your niche. Select what types of products you want to advertise and sell in your aStore. Once you have picked a template, press "Continue." Select a color scheme and fonts. Click "Continue" to add widgets.

Select the widgets and how they are to be arranged. The widget page is where the search box is added to your store. For those already with an aStore, click the box allowing the search box to be shown and decide if it should be on the left or right side of the page.

Click the "Get the Link" button. Amazon will provide a link that can be added to your Web page to display your aStore. Customers may now search Amazon without leaving your Web page, and you will receive a commission on anything that sells through your site.
